UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, were charged after police said they tampered with a customer’s food at a North Duncan Bypass location.

Union police said the customer complained about an initial drive-thru order and staff offered to remake it. According to the police account summarized in reporting from Audacy and Fox News, the food was allegedly taken from the trash and spat on before it was served again.

Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, Fox News reported. Audacy, citing the Union Police Department, said Sanders and Rice were arrested and that a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant.

Fox News reported the suspects were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22. The reporting also differed on the date of the alleged incident, with one account placing it on May 30 and another on May 31.
