VICTORVILLE, Calif., July 17 (High Desert News Online) — Costco food courts at several California warehouses have quietly added chicken strips for $6.99, a new menu item that appears to be replacing the chain’s calzone at some stores.

Workers at stores in Alhambra, Los Feliz and Bakersfield’s Rosedale Highway said the strips first appeared July 11. A Santa Rosa employee said the item arrived July 6, and a Concord worker said it had been on the menu for a few days by July 15.

The order includes five breaded chicken strips and a dipping sauce. Menu boards listed the item at 1,130 to 1,640 calories.

In Victorville, the Costco warehouse at 14555 Valley Center Drive also added the strips for $6.99, according to menu boards at the location. The different arrival dates suggest the rollout is happening store by store across California.
