Remarkable 28-year run, Neil Cavuto Career with Fox News
NEW YORK, NEW YORK (Times Media Service) – After a remarkable 28-year run, Neil Cavuto, one of the original anchors at Fox News, has decided to part ways with the network. Cavuto, 66, chose not to renew his contract and delivered his final broadcast of Your World with Neil Cavuto on December 19, 2024.
Cavuto played a key role in shaping Fox News’s reputation for comprehensive business coverage. Over the years, he hosted several influential programs, including Your World with Neil Cavuto, Cavuto Live on Fox News, and Cavuto: Coast to Coast on Fox Business Network. His even-handed approach to news and thoughtful commentary garnered widespread respect, even in a polarized media environment.
Before joining Fox News, Cavuto was a trailblazer in business journalism. He was a founding anchor and reporter for CNBC, where he co-hosted its inaugural broadcast in 1989 and hosted the popular Power Lunch. His career also included reporting for NBC’s Today show and contributing to PBS’s Nightly Business Report.
In his farewell remarks, Cavuto expressed deep gratitude to his audience and colleagues. “I got to do what I love to do—report the news. Not shout the news, not blast the news… Just call balls and strikes,” he said. His heartfelt address highlighted his commitment to journalism and acknowledged the significant health challenges he overcame during his career, including multiple sclerosis, open-heart surgery, and surviving COVID-19.
Fox News praised Cavuto’s contributions, calling his work “a master class in journalism” and crediting his programs with setting a high standard for business reporting across the industry.
The departure of Cavuto represents a major transition for Fox News, closing a chapter defined by his journalistic excellence. The network announced that a rotation of hosts will fill his time slots until a permanent replacement is selected in January 2025.
